ISERH HONOURED THE INVITATION OF THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF BUDGET OFFICE OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
It was an Invitation Mail signed by Mr. Afolabi Olajuwon, Head – Press and Public Relations, Budget Office of the Federation and sent on behalf of the Director-General of Budget Office of the Federation, requesting the presence of a representative of the Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (ISERH) at the Media Briefing on ‘Issues Relating to the 2017 Budget’, held on Thursday, 23 February 2017 at the Mail Auditorium (Conference Hall), Federal Ministry of Finance Complex, Central Business District, Abuja. According to Mr. Falade AbdulMujib, ISERH representative at the event, the media briefing was really an eye-opener to some of the contents of the 2017 Budget.
It would be important to remind us of ISERH relentless efforts and critics of some aspects of the 2016 Budget of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, during and after a Senate Interactive Session with CSOs on 2016 Appropriation Bill, where the Executive Director of ISERH, Mr. Abdulahi Abayomi Abdulraheem, made a 23-page submission that was later sought for by the US Consulates Abuja Office. This makes our presence a relevance to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning because, we shall never keep quiet in the sight of misappropriation, mismanagement and misplacement of priority found in our budget. We shall surely take our time to study the Appropriation Bills prior further invitations from relevant stakeholders as our participation in this Media Briefing is never enough to satisfy our curiousity.
