ISERH UNVEILS THE IDENTITY OF THE LAGOS STATE FOCAL PERSON FOR NPOWER!!
After rigorous over 24 hours researching, contacting and searching to knowing the name of the Npower Focal Person for Lagos State, embarked upon by Mr. Abdulahi Abayomi Abdulraheem – the Executive Director of the Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (a popular NGO known for providing oversight functions over Npower Programme), consequent upon an alert received from some well-meaning selected Npower Volunteers in Lagos State about their fellows’ proposed ‘peaceful’ protest which was successfully averted as a result of the statement issued by this organization, the identity of the Focal Person has finally been unveiled.
A call was put through to Madam Olusola Falana, the Lagos State Focal Person for Npower, by our Executive Director around 3:44pmtoday Thursday 5th Jan., 2017. She never allowed us to record a missed call on her cell phone as she instantly picked the call that lasted 6 min. 17 sec. She explained how she had been on the lookout for the approval of the Lagos State government to commence the verification exercise.
As a civil servant, she has to be given an approval by the government of the host state before such an exercise could be carried out. This was/is the kind of support other states’ focal persons enjoy(ed) that constitutes(d) to the smooth verification exercise in those states. She convinced us that soonest, the verification exercise would take place as she had already held a meeting with the State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the State Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) – the twin bodies that would work for the successful implementation of the verification exercise.
Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode
Lagos State Governor
We now use this medium to appeal to the Lagos State Government under the direct leadership of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode to kindly approve the commencement of the verification exercise so as not to deny the timid unemployed Lagos graduates this one-time opportunity. We are quite aware, through our findings from various sources, how disappointed a government could be if their proposed resource is replaced with a 'better' option, but that should be eschewed for now as the most important thing is the verification of these fortunate selected Npower Volunteers of the state. Lagos is so fortunate to have the highest number of selected Npower Volunteers across the nation and this should be a motivational point of doing the needful and required at the most appropriate time.
To the ever-peaceful Npower Volunteers, this has not called for protest but an appeal to the State Government to endorse the commencement of the verification exercise. Kindly let us compose ourselves, remain peaceful, be law-abiding and be positive-minded towards Mrs. Olusola Falana – the state Focal Person and the Lagos State Government. It is better late than be late!!!
We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the people, that we have chosen to make their identity anonymous, for their fantastic contributions towards our reaching this level of success. We sincerely believe that together, we can move mountains.
Together, we shall win the heart of Ambode’s government
Signed,
Management,
Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health
