'For counting our school worthy of this kind gesture, only God can reward you' - those were a part of the words spoken by the enthusiastic principal of Osowusi Middle/High School, Iloko-jesa, Oriade Local Government of Osun State - Mr. Ipoola A. O., as our team visited them for our Back to School Project. This is a project designed to support indigent students with education materials to aid their learning and support schools with teaching aids.
Wednesday, 2nd October, 2019 was yet another awesome outing for ISERH Team as students and staff of the named school welcomed the team amidst excitement. It is important to note that this school had produced 2 beneficiaries of ISERH SSCE/UTME Scholarship, of whom one is undergoing her Industrial Attachment Training (IT) with a Nigerian giant bank having completed her Ordinary National Diploma course at The Federal Polytechnic Ede. However, it saddens to note that despite the zeal and passion displayed by these students towards learning, majority of them still lack basic writing materials, while their ever-ready-to-impact teachers also need teaching aids to make their works easy and fun-filled.
Aderanti Abimbola, ISERH Program Director, and his colleague Akinwole Isiaq, ABC Project Director, appreciated the management for their warm reception while reiterating the organization's commitment to not only advocate for good educational policies but as well grant scholarships to deserving students and as well provide basic materials to the needy and the school at large. He further stated that the organisation's support to make education accessible for every willing students she comes across in the state is borne out of passion to impact this generation and those to come. He concluded his speech by admonishing them to be of good character and pursue their dreams diligently.
After the presentation of 3 cartons of chalks to the school, the Principal lauded the management of ISERH for such initiative as he called for such gesture and many more from well-meaning Nigerians. ISERH presents chalks to visited schools with the hope of making teaching easier for the teachers as many are instances where schools run out of chalks/basic teaching tools and such put a stop to covering the syllabus for the term.
As ISERH continues in her quest to supporting the vulnerable ones, our special appreciation to those who have been supporting this project via Global Giving and other direct support into our account. Together, we can conveniently breath life into every youth's dream.
